Unique opportunity to acquire a Parnell cottage located in the heart of the Boyne valley in one of the most historical areas of the north east. Just a stones throw from the the UNESCO world heritage monuments of Newgrange and Dowth, property available in the area is becoming extremely rare. The house itself is a typical Parnell style cottage with cut stone walls and natural slate roof. History:
Charles Stewart Parnell introduced a Private Members Bill which became the Labourers (Ireland) Act, 1883, the foundation stone of the rural housing code. The Act of 1883 passed the initiative to local ratepayers to the rural sanitary authority (then the Board of Guardians) to undertake a scheme of cottage building.
